WORLD’S LONGEST LUNCH AT HUBERT ESTATE

150 guests, four courses and one very long table.

November saw Hubert Estate play host to the Yarra Valley World’s Longest Lunch, in partnership with the Melbourne Food and Wine Festival. Showcasing the very best of the Yarra Valley’s food and wine, we were honoured to feature in the 2023 regional festival.

The day began in the Hubert Gallery of Art with St Hubert’s Blanc de Noir flowing and smoked trout tartare and roast duck betel leaf canapés circling courtesy of Executive Chef, Michael Smith.

With guests taking their seats outdoors, the entrée was served. Buxton trout was the star of the show with a bone dashi, caviar and finger lime, paired with a 2022 Pinot Blanc from St Hubert’s Wines of course. For the main event, guests enjoyed slow-cooked Gippsland lamb with valley greens, paddock flowers and jus matched with the 2021 St Hubert’s Pinot Mineur.

Moving on from the table and into St Hubert’s Cellar Door, dessert was served roving with the Hubert Estate pastry team crafting single-origin Madagascan chocolate mousseline with elderberry, and pistachio mousse with raspberry compote and Sicilian pistachio dacquoise, delicately balanced with a glass of Notes Spirited Viognier.

Helping to bring the Yarra Valley vision to life were our incredible sponsors. We worked closely with our chosen event suppliers, Valiant Event Hire, Sugar Bee Flowers and Table Art to create the World’s Longest Lunch Table, coordinating furniture and styling to fit the Hubert Estate landscape.

Combining Yarra Valley food, wine, styling and hospitality, it was an honour to create this one of a kind experience for our guests. If you missed out on the day, join us at Quarters, or Celebrate at Harriett to create your own day in the Yarra Valley.
