As the sun sets over the Yarra Valley and the sky turns to twilight, Hubert Estate invites families to roll out the picnic rugs and settle in for a magical evening of open-air cinema.

This school holidays, our open-air cinema returns on Friday 10th April with a special family screening of Shrek — the original fairytale adventure that captured hearts in the early 2000s and still has parents quoting every line.

From cheeky donkeys to unlikely heroes, it’s a feel-good favourite that brings together kids discovering it for the first time and adults reliving a little nostalgic magic under the stars.

ABOUT THE MOVIE:

Released in 2001, Shrek turned the fairytale world upside down — and became an instant classic.

Follow everyone’s favourite grumpy ogre as he teams up with a fast-talking Donkey to rescue Princess Fiona, encountering dragons, gingerbread men and a very short-tempered Lord Farquaad along the way.

Packed with humour for all ages, iconic one-liners and a soundtrack parents will instantly recognise, it’s the perfect family film to enjoy together.

THE EXPERIENCE

Early bookings at Quarters are encouraged from 5.00pm, with dine-in and takeaway available before the film. Enjoy wood-fired pizzas, casual family dining and easy pre-movie options.

Classic movie treats including popcorn and soft serve will be available, along with a pop-up snack and drinks bar near the Amphitheatre serving wine, beer, spirits and soft drinks throughout the evening.

Movie commences at 7.00pm sharp.

Bring a rug or blanket, layer up for the crisp autumn evening air, and arrive early to secure your spot on the lawn as the Amphitheatre transforms into a relaxed open-air cinema experience designed with families in mind.

Pop-up drinks & snack bar:

SOME THINGS TO REMEMBER:

• Fully licensed — no BYO alcohol permitted

• Bring your own rugs and blankets for the grass

• Chairs must sit at the top of the Amphitheatre for unobstructed viewing

• Seating is unreserved — suggested arrival from 6:30 pm for best spots

• Dogs welcome — on short leash; owners must clean up and keep them quiet

• Smoking prohibited in the Amphitheatre.
